This venue holds a very special place in my heart. I worked at Stan Hywet back in my High School days. I started there at the Carriage House Café and eventually worked weddings there on the hospitality staff. This is one of my most favorite places in Ohio. It is such a fairytale there. I love venues with a ton of history. This location is overflowing with history deeply connected to Ohio. It was where the co-founder of Goodyear Tire Company, F.A. Seiberling, lived with his family. The Manor House itself was built in 1915 with a Tudor Style Architecture. The name Stan Hywet is Old English for stone quarry after the property’s most prominent natural feature.
I worked here for nearly 10 seasons and had my own wedding reception here! I feel like I know this place like the back of my hand and I’m always in awe of the gorgeous gardens and grounds. If you are looking for a lavish wedding venue with a secret garden feel, this needs to be on your list of venues to check out.
